The Problem

The Problem

Most digital wallets are native apps that specialize in sending and receiving payments. Some offer more expansive features, like banking and debit/credit card access. But, few combine these with investing and e-commerce retail capabilities.

Research indicates users prefer having consolidated financial resources at their fingertips. In short: a comprehensive fintech app, where they can see and act on every financial aspect of their lives.

Whereas most digital wallets are native apps that specialize in sending and receiving payments, Bene is a responsive web application that combines digital wallet features with a comprehensive "fintech" experience, including banking, investing, and even e-commerce capabilities.

The Approach

The Approach

The design approach below presents in linear fashion (left to right; top to bottom).

Though - like life - design is hardly a linear process. The second-to-last Iterative Refinements step proves this (shown below).

On the other hand, this project was also based on a comprehensive brief that asked for an end-to-end responsive web app designed from scratch. For this reason, the project followed a Double Diamond process under the Design Thinking paradigm. This approach proved crucial: to extract as much possible research data to support distinguishing features, which could then position the product favorably in a relatively saturated fintech market.
